GOSH construction management plan

issues

Camden and GOSH are attempting to push through the construction management plan with insufficient consultation for such a large development which will affect so many local business and residents for a long time.

One single notice has been posted on Great Ormond Street, and we understand that there have been no physical letters received by anybody so far.  (14 Aug)

The email they sent appears below. As you may notice, in it they are attempting to increase the size of the building in an addendum (instead of a separate planning application); they note they will ingress on the vaults underneath the street on the South side of Great Ormond Street, and, you will also find proposals for things like the routing of trucks carrying materials that will have a large impact on everybody in the neighbourhood.

GOSH are inviting attendance at their drop-in sessions and are asking for comments on the proposals. You can also view the plan at Holborn Library.

You can only comment between14 August and 13 September.

Here is the email from GOSH.

We are getting in touch to provide an update on our plans for the new Children’s Cancer Centre (CCC), regarding the Section 73 application and Deconstruction and Construction Management Plan consultation.

An update on our Section 73 application

Following our consultation in July, we wanted to let you know that the Section 73 application seeking permission for changes to the consented CCC has been validated by LB Camden and is available to view on the Camden planning portal. LB Camden will now undertake their statutory consultation on the application.

Public consultation on the draft Deconstruction and Construction Management Plan (DCMP) starts on 14 August and closes on 13 September 2023.

We would like to invite you to comment on the draft Deconstruction and Construction Management plan, and also to invite you to one of our upcoming consultation events.
The draft DCMP outlines how deconstruction and construction activities will be carried out while ensuring safety and minimal disturbance, and it has been updated to take into account feedback from LB Camden and the S73 proposal.

Further information and a full copy of the draft DCMP is available to view on our project website and printed copies are available to view at Holborn Library (32-38 Theobalds Rd, London, WC1X 8PA). Please note that all comments must be submitted during the consultation period between 14 August and 13 September.

We will be holding two drop-in sessions with members of the Sisk delivery team to answer any questions you may have. Please join us anytime on the following dates at the Weston House Lecture Theatre, Great Ormond Street, WC1N 3BH:

•            Wednesday 6 September between 17:00-20:00
•            Thursday 7 September between 13:00-15:30

We have also written to 2230 addresses locally to provide the same update and invitation to comment on the DCMP.

As ever if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Oh GOSH, No! Survey Result

The numbers are in; the result is clear. The SurveyMonkey survey of views about GOSH and their proposed new Children’s Cancer Centre show a massive rejection of GOSH's expansion plans.  Not only the building, but the way they're currently intending to do about it. 91% thought the size and scale of GOSH&r...
