1A ARTS etc runs a range of services for local children, young people and adults. For the latest news on workshops, courses and events check our blog. 1A ARTS etc also offers services to other voluntary sector organisations and community groups. We have been working with local people in Holborn since 2001 and now also operate a volunteering programme.

Bikefix

We are not in a hurry to sell you a strange bicycle, we know that many people will not understand the point of some of the stuff we sell, and many more can not imagine it will ever be of use to them.

We can afford to take the long view on this technology because we know it works, and because in the long run there will be enough people who recognise this. In fact there may not be a choice. When you no longer feel at home on a conventional bike, or you have children to transport, or an urgent delivery into a area from where motorised transport has been excluded, we will be ready!

Yes a site dedicated to those rather odd looking pavement objects you find in the most interesting of places..... Bollards have a history richer than most objects placed upon the pavement and we can easily find some dating back to the earlier part of the 19th Century.

BRAG (Bloomsbury Residents Action Group)

Our remit is to remind decision-makers that 'Residents Matter' The Bloomsbury Residents' Action Group (BRAG) was set up at the end of May 2016 in response to local concern. We are voters and council tax payers, yet the voice of residents is going unheard. We want residents to be properly consulted by Camden Council, the Mayor's Office, TFL or anybody else about proposals and issues under debate or consideration that will affect the lives of thousands of residents.

Calthorpe Project

An inner city oasis - a community garden and centre where people grow and learn together taking care of each other and the environment." The Project offers a varied programme of activities for children and adults, an under 5s drop-in and a number of community classes. During the school holidays there is an extensive programme of activities. The site also includes a one-acre organic community garden where local people can grow their own food and a floodlit sports pitch (marked for netball and five-a-side football).
