We are not in a hurry to sell you a strange bicycle, we know that many people will not understand the point of some of the stuff we sell, and many more can not imagine it will ever be of use to them.

We can afford to take the long view on this technology because we know it works, and because in the long run there will be enough people who recognise this. In fact there may not be a choice. When you no longer feel at home on a conventional bike, or you have children to transport, or an urgent delivery into a area from where motorised transport has been excluded, we will be ready!

Designing and building bicycles specific to customer's needs is what has now been happening at Condor Cycles for sixty years.

We aim to provide everything cycle ownership entails from advice on fames and componants to fixing a puncture while you wait on a Monday morning.

So whats Folk and Shofolk all about?

Folk is a casual menswear brand born in 2001 in London, Shofolk, the sister (and brother) footwear collection for men and women, followed in 2004.

Folk's about making clean, honest understated garments with a meticulous eye for colour, fabric selection and design detail. We create simple everday clothing with subtle, innovative and sometimes playful detailing.

Shofolk is designed by the same team and has the same ethos combining distinctive shapes with natural leathers to create functional yet stylish footwear. Production is limited to keep the quality levels high with a nice by product that their owners are unlikely to bump into someone wearing the same pair.

Inspirations cant be nailed down to specifics, ideas come from all over but mainly from what we see and hear each day in London. Shapes, colours and textures play a big part in what we do.

Maggie Owen founded the business in 2003 in Steep, Hampshire. It was conceived as an interface between the most exciting, talented and innovative designers working in the world of costume jewellery today and the retail sector.

"The story of the business started in the south of France with buying a necklace - Perpignan, winter 2001. The boutique was named 'Nomad', long gone. Six months later I re-visited and bought a second necklace which was an exceptional design and had the same distinctive feel. Luckily Philippe Ferrandis signs each piece and I was able to find him. That first meeting in Paris, which I remember so vividly, was to become the start of a working relationship which now spans many years. This renowned Parisian designer is showcased at 13 Rugby Street, an association of which I am most proud." "Indeed I am proud of my association with all my designers, Anton Heunis whose studio is in Madrid, Stefanie Freydont who designs in her studio on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Patrice from Florida, Simon Harrison, Karin Andreasson and Justina Budraityte who all work in London, to name but a few."

Persephone prints mainly neglected fiction and non-fiction by women, for women and about women. The titles are chosen to appeal to busy women who rarely have time to spend in ever-larger bookshops and who would like to have access to a list of books designed to be neither too literary nor too commercial. The books are guaranteed to be readable, thought-provoking and impossible to forget. We sell mainly through mail order, through selected shops and we have our own shops.
